November, 2006- Organize a Screening

Join us throughout November by organizing a screening of ripples cross. This 91 minute documentary followes a group of non-violent activists as they stand against the occupation of Palestine. They use their international status to protect civilian lives from the conflicts raging in Palestine, Lebanon and Iraq and to bring those experiences home in order to educate young people in the US. We recommend a free screening followed by a collection of donations at the conclusion of the film. Click on Contact, then "donate" at www.ripplescross.com for a link to a secure Paypal account. You can purchase a copy of the film here or rent it through Netflix. Remember, all proceeds will go directly to support activists working in Palestine, Lebanon and Iraq. If you would like to host a screening but cannot afford the DVD, send an email to ripplescross@yahoo.com to request a free DVD screener. If you have a screening planned, email us so we can add it to our website.

Helpful Hints:

It usually takes at least two weeks to promote a screening successfully. I always have the best luck when I start early and follow up as the event gets closer. "On Campus" events usually do the best. If you aren't enrolled, see if there is a campus group that would be willing to sponsor the screening and help get the word out. Don't forget to include:

Press Release: for Newspapers and email lists. (html)
PSA: for radio stations.
Event Description: for online community calanders and .org websites.
Flyers: for coffee houses and to distribute on campus.
Email Signup: Collect emails to keep in touch with supporters and subscribe to our newsletter.
